People look at me and say I’m crazy to pay to get my ass kicked, sleep on a gym floor, rehearse 12 hours a day in terrible weather, get yelled at, broken down, and physically/mentally drained every day.
I look at them and say you obviously have never felt raw emotion and a bond with a group of people you didn’t even know that’s so incredibly strong, it dates back 1956. Its not a struggle to rehearse and perform with the Phantom Regiment, its a privilege and an honor. Performing for a crowd paying to see all the hard work I’ve done, signing sticks for kids that just started drumming, changing someones life…..that’s my payoff. Look at that crowd, and tell me I’m crazy for paying to experience THAT.
